CBSE conducts the final examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 every year in the month of March. The results are announced by the end of May.   • The weightage given to short and long answer questions has been reduced to 30% instead of 40% by the CBSE authorities.

CBSE Class 12 Exam Pattern 2023-24

The Central Board of Secondary Examination has released the CBSE class 12 revised Exam Pattern 2023-24. The board has released the new CBSE class 12 exam pattern 2023-24 in accordance with the National Education Policy, 2020. CBSE will increase the number of competency based questions in Class 12 board exams 2024. The total marks for each subject for CBSE Class 12 board exams is 100. The CBSE class 12 result is prepared by calculating theory and practical exam marks. Theory exams have a weightage of 80 marks while the practical exams have a weightage of 20 marks. The passing criteria for CBSE Class 12 board exams is 33% in every subject. Here are some changes introduced by the CBSE authorities for CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2024:

  • 20% of the questions will be MCQ-based questions for CBSE Class 12 board exams 2024

  • 40% of the questions will be competency-based questions which will include MCQs, source-based and case-study based questions.

  • 40% of the questions will constitute short and long answer-type questions in CBSE Class 12 board exams 2024.
